🌊 Bellingham’s First-Ever Cigarette Butt Cleanup! 🚭
Let’s make history—and a cleaner waterfront—together.
Join us for a community cleanup event along Bellingham’s stunning downtown shoreline. We’re tackling one of the most toxic and persistent forms of litter: cigarette butts.
🔍 Why it matters:
- Cigarette filters are made of plastic and leach harmful chemicals.
- Each one can contaminate up to 1,000 liters of water.
- They’re the most littered item on Earth, with 1.2 million tons polluting our planet.
- On beaches, they make up 1 in every 5 items collected.
Let’s show what the Pacific Northwest is made of—compassion, action, and a whole lot of grit.
🏆 The top collector will win a small prize—and a huge dose of love from all of us for helping protect our environment.
Let’s clean up, connect, and make a difference—one butt at a time.
