Beach Cleanups

From testing our coastal waters to ensuring that runoff stays in your garden to reducing plastic pollution, Surfrider's programs help ensure that our marine ecosystems are protected.

Cleleaning up the coastlines of Whatcom County is an honor and a privilege we are excited to partake in preserving the beautiful landscape of the Salish Sea's. The Northwest Straits crew hosts about 10 beach cleanups a year and partners with businesses to set up more throughout the year.

Be A Coastal Defender

We are blessed with miles of shoreline herein the PNW and will travel to cleanup when we can! The efforts of many volunteers help clean the loose garbage from flowing into the ocean. If you want to help cleanup but can't be there, think about donating to our chapter to help with supply costs.
